- In case any one or both of the parties are divorced or widowed, the death certificate/divorce papers are mandatory.
- A declaration of marriage intent to be submitted to civil registrar.

The couple must at least be 18 years old and should have stayed in Italy for about 10 days depending on their nationality. Two witnesses must also be present.
