Requirements vary from destination to destination. With some exceptions in a couple of Islands, you should expect to arrive 3 business days before your symbolic wedding and up to 4 business days before a civil ceremony.
The cost of the notary and translation is not included in your wedding package, but some resorts offer the services of a judge or clergyman in their more comprehensive packages. Your dedicated on-site wedding coordinator will help you with the legal arrangements. After the ceremony, your notarized and translated marriage certificate will be sent to your home address. This may take 8 to 12 weeks.
Same-sex marriages are currently legal only in Mexico and Costa Rica. Other destinations, such as the Dominican Republic, are suitable for a symbolic wedding at an adults-only resort. Unfortunately, most destinations do not currently allow legal or symbolic weddings due to their religious history and culture but are LGBT-friendly for vacationers and honeymooners.
